Valletta, is Maltas capital. It is the tiniest capital of the European Union, is now the islands financial centre and major industrial and the irreversible seat of the Maltese federal government. The city was developed after the Great Siege of Malta by the Ottoman Turks in 1565. It is constructed on top of a hill called Mount Sceberras, and surrounded by harbours or the sea on 3 sides.The city had 2 excellent sieges. The very first siege by the Ottoman turks in 1565 when the Knights of St. John drove away the intruders and the second in the 2nd World War when the German and Italian forces bombed and attempted to unsuccessfully starve the island into submission.

St Barbara’s Bastion is obviously among Valletta’s swankiest domestic streets with some beautiful apartments, having amazing views over the harbour.Valletta is Malta’s primary shopping centre and the main street is Republic Street. Merchant street, is the place of the market. There is really no night life in Valletta, after 21 o’clock every thing is closed and the streets are practically empty. streets of Valletta in the evening.
